Pead PR asked us to help launch Delongi’s new Vintage Icona range of kettles and toasters. They wanted those attending the launch to feel like they were entering an Italian piazza. So, we created seating areas surrounded by display units. Each kettle or toaster, which evoked images of Italian scooters, had its own reference to Italian life — beautiful blue Sicilian backdrops, plenty of greenery and olive trees, etc.
The challenge was to avoid doing too much. The products could so easily have become lost in unnecessary props. Our job was to tell a story (to a point) that gave the media in attendance inspiration to write about the products.
